About Victoria
Victoria Taylor,
B.Sc., M.Ed., RP
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and hold a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. I bring extensive experience supporting individuals through life's challenges and transitions.
I began my career working with students at Carleton University and have since spent many years at Trafalgar Addiction Treatment Centres, where I served as both a psychotherapist and clinical manager.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can build insight, develop healthier coping skills, heal from past experiences, and create meaningful change.
As a mother of two, I have a deep appreciation for the joys and challenges of motherhood. I understand how becoming a parent can bring profound changes—not only to daily life, but also to relationships and one's connection to self. Following my own postpartum experiences, I found that spending time on the farm and connecting with animals became an important part of rediscovering myself. The quiet presence of animals, time spent outdoors, and opportunities to reconnect with my own interests were deeply healing during a season of significant transition. These experiences have fostered a passion for supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, identity changes, parenting transitions, and the ongoing challenge of balancing their own needs while caring for others.
My connection to animals has been a lifelong one. I have grown up with Coleman (the black Morgan pictured here) since the age of five; he is now 30 years old. Regardless of my life stage, Coleman has remained a constant source of comfort, grounding, and connection. In honour of all that Coleman has brought to my life, I hope to provide that same healing and connection to others.

Services
Services Offered
Individual Psychotherapy
I provide 1-hour virtual psychotherapy sessions for people living in Ontario.
If you prefer to meet in-person and enjoy the outdoors, 1-hour "Walk & Talk" psychotherapy sessions are available in Arthur and Hillsburgh/Erin, ON.
I believe that therapy should feel like a supportive and collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences without judgment and be actively involved in creating their therapeutic goals. Drawing from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Gestalt Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I tailor each session to meet the unique needs and goals of the individual.
My main areas of focus include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, self-compassion, addiction, trauma, relationships, communication and boundaries, motherhood and life transitions, and performance anxiety
Equine and Animal Assisted Therapy
If you are an animal lover or are looking to try something new, I offer Equine and Animal Assisted Therapy sessions with horses and/or pygmy goats. Visit the "Meet the Animals" page for more information on the animals.
Equine and Animal Assisted Therapy sessions merge my psychotherapy training with grooming, leading, and being amongst the herd. Equine and Animal Assisted Therapy assists people in being more present and open in therapy sessions, and can be beneficial for a variety of presenting concerns including building self-awareness, creating boundaries and healthier relationships, and healing from trauma.
Group Animal Sessions
I run group sessions that are aimed at promoting greater connection, developing self-awareness, and establishing healthier coping strategies.
These programs are, but are not limited to:
-
Navigating Motherhood & Re-Discovering Identity
-
Fostering Improved Well-being in First Responders
-
Connecting Women in Recovery
-
Supporting Families/Friends with loved ones in recovery
and for anyone who is looking to share in a personal growth experience with friends, family and/or colleagues.
